If you have a curious little toddler on your hands who likes opening and closing things, then the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board could be a great gift for your little one.

Like most of the toys from the Melissa & Doug range, the Latches Board is beautiful and well made.  It features six different ‘houses’ each of which has a different lock, latch or clasp to open to see the occupants inside.

It is quite sturdy so it’s best to use on the floor (not on your lap) and younger toddlers will probably need some help unlocking the doors, but older children (four and up) should be able to do the puzzle easily.

Parents will also be happy to know that there are no loose parts and everything is attached (so you won’t need to search under the sofa for a missing part like some other toys).  For that reason it’s good to take on car trips or to grandma’s house because it’ll remain intact.

Another bonus is that it’s quiet.  No music.  Ahhh.

It’s education and fun and will look great in your child’s room if you choose to have it on display.  We think it’s great.
