For those of you that have been waiting for our Top 10 Christmas Toys for 2011, then here it is!

We’ve been looking at which toys we think are the 2011 best Christmas Toys and have reviewed an extensive list to bring you the list of what we believe will be the hottest toys this year.

As usual we’ve got the top five all time new toys for this year and the top five favourites that are popular year after year.

Hot New Toys for 2011

Our list this year includes the toys that are hot right now but have only been on the market for a short period of time.  It’s those gifts that every cool kid on the block wants to own before anyone else.

#1 – LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

Each year LEGO bring out an Advent Calendar which become bestselling collectibles with LEGO fans.  This year they have two, their regular Advent Calendar and the Star Wars themed Calendar which will think will be a must have gift for any Star Wars fan.

#2 – LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer Learning Tablet

Sick of the kids taking your iPad?  Then get them their own learning tablet.  The LeapPad Explorer is a touchpad tablet with educational games and comes in two colours: green and violet (pink).  It comes with a bunch of prebuilt apps or you can purchase more.  It also contains a built in camera and video recorder.

#3 – Vtech – Sit to Stand Learning Walker

For the babies in the family, we love the Vtech sit to stand learning walker.  The front panel can be played with on the ground or set up as a walker as they grow.  It’s a great toy for helping your baby walk and its fun to play as well.

#4 – Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board

If you’ve ever owned any Melissa & Doug toys then you’ll know how well made they are, and the deluxe latches board is no exception.  Your little ones will have fun trying to unlatch and open the mini doors to see what’s behind them.  It teaches co-ordination and motor control.  And it’s fun or course.

#5 – Air Swimmers Remote Control Flying Clown Fish

The Air Swimmer toys are just amazing and while they have many different varieties of fish (including a shark) to choose from, we particularly like the clownfish toy.  The toy itself really does float in the air (with the help of helium of course) and you can control it’s movement around the room via a remote control.

If you’d rather stick with those toys that are bestsellers year after year then you’ll love our all time classic favourites list.  This year we’ve chosen:

#1 – Syma Radio Controlled Helicopter

This cute little helicopter will be a hit with both the kids and dad’s too.  The controls to fly it around are very easy to use and you can get started flying it right out of the box practically.  You’ll need to charge it first though, which you can do either from the power socket or via USB on your computer.

#2 – Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart Inc

Perplexus is a maze game where you need to move a marble around the maze overcoming various obstacles as you go.  It’s fun and addictive as everyone tries to get the marble from one end to the other as you twist, flip and spin the ball.  Once you’ve mastered the original game, there are many other versions to test your skills with.

#3 – Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Baby’s First Blocks

An all-time classic baby toy is the Brilliant Basics Baby’s First Blocks by Fisher Price.  Your infant can practice putting the blocks in and out of the box and when they are able try to get them through the shape holes in the top of the lid.  Helps develop problem solving skills and manual dexterity.

#4 – LEGO Ultimate Building Set – 405 Pieces

Want to get the kids some LEGO but not sure which set to get them?  Why not just get them a box with over 400 pieces and let them create their own cities, cars and buildings.  The set contains pieces of all sizes and also a book giving instructions on how to create many different creations.
